Do you know where it took place and when? Can you tell us more? You may click on the photo to enlarge it. Send your answers to Larry the Lay Leader! (Click)

The photo used for the question is displayed at the bottom of this scan, and would appear to be part of the early site work to prepare our site for building construction. Note that the small article, which appeared in the Orlando Business Journal during the week of Jan. 20-26, 1995, places the start of construction during this timeframe.

Is it just me, or does it appear that we are rather isolated at this time? The bottom photo appears to be facing to the Southeast where we can see the watertower. Not much else is visible! That would change soon enough...

As the construction of our building continued, this photo was taken from the back of the building looking through the North side glass block window through the MPR towards the front of the building. Anyone care to comment about what we are seeing here?

This is a view of our steeple from near the Northeast corner of the unfinished portico. The steeple looks complete at this stage!

This is a neat shot of Peace UMC as it rises from the wilderness of Hunter's Creek! Looking mighty good, too, I might add!

And it all comes down to the installment of the crowning touch - the Cross! If you look closely at this photo, you'll begin to understand why the glass block was covered initially by a set of heavy curtains, then later with cloth-covered walls. It was so bright in the mornings that anyone on the stage was basically in silhouette.

In this last figure we see a scan of the handwritten initial plan for space usage of Peace UMC as of February 7, 1995. As you can see, it wasn't too far off from how we use the space today.
