Our Mission

To provide children with developmentally enriching experiences in a nurturing environment where they can learn and grow in God's grace.

Philosophy

At Peace United Methodist Preschool we use a creative curriculum with child initiated activities.  The children will learn, through playing and exploring, a variety of experiences in a happy, pleasant environment.  It is likely you will hear laughter as you listen in on your child's class.  You will see children smiling as they sing songs and do fingerplays.

We believe in redirecting a child's negative behavior.  We believe that when a child is accepted and loved they will learn to behave positively. Your child will gain the social skills and fundamentals of learning needed for Kindergarten.  We believe your child will feel good about themselves and will love to learn at Peace United Methodist Preschool.

Curriculum

Our teaching staff is dedicated to making Peace United Methodist Preschool a positive learning experience for preschoolers.  Children are able to make choices and participate in small group activities.

We have a well-planned curriculum that provides a teaching topic for each week.  The activities are organized around the topics, using learning centers that include: art, dramatic play, science/nature, fine motor skills, math, fingerplays, rhymes and group time.  The weekly schedule includes chapel time and movement & music.  The daily schedule includes playground time, free play (learning) time and snack time.  We proudly feature the Handwriting Without Tears/Get Set For School curriculum to enhance pre-reading and handwriting skills as well as the “Everyday Math” curriculum for pre-math readiness.

Calendar

Our program observes the same holidays and days off as the Orange County School District with only a few exceptions.
